Governance

Who owns this, how it changes, and what is authoritative when docs disagree.

Ownership

  • Owner: Daniel (Founder) — voice and strategic messaging
  • Editor: Product — glossary and organizer nav labels
  • Enforcement: Engineering — design system voice rules in PR review

Source of truth hierarchy

  1. Component-enforceable rules: design-system.sportingscouter.com/voice (from ui/VOICE.md)
  2. Writing and channel rules: this site (content-style-guide.sportingscouter.com)
  3. Brand personality and visual identity: docs/BRAND_GUIDELINES.md v2.0
  4. Cursor agent summary: .cursor/skills/content-design-system/SKILL.md — generated; site + voice win on conflict

Boundary with design system

If a rule can be expressed in a component API or failed in a PR line comment, it belongs in ui/VOICE.md. If it is voice, glossary, marketing, legal, or translation workflow, it belongs here. This guide links to voice rules — never restates or contradicts them.

Change process

  1. Propose change (issue or PR to styleguide content)
  2. Review: product + engineering if i18n keys or glossary terms change
  3. Update glossary and all four locale files when terms change
  4. Regenerate Cursor skill from site content
  5. Version bump in scripts/nav.mjs SITE.version when shipping substantive releases

Versioning

Content style guide uses semver-style labels (v1.0). Breaking glossary changes require a migration note for in-flight translations.

Visibility

v1.0 is public and indexable. Sitemap: /sitemap.xml. Submit https://content-style-guide.sportingscouter.com/sitemap.xml in Google Search Console after deploy.
